A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi had food at the residence of Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan, BSP chief Mayawati on Thursday said the PM’s visit to the house of a Dalit and his having food there like Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, will not bring any positive change in the lives of these communities.

In an apparent remark over Modi having eaten khichdi and dahi-chura at Paswan’s house, Mayawati said: “If Narendra Modi goes to the house of a Dalit like Congress yuvraj and eats khichdi and dahi-chura, this will not influence the Dalits to join his party. Instead, he should take some concrete steps to make these people stand on their feet.”

Demanding that the houses where Dr B R Ambedkar stayed in London and in Delhi should be converted into memorials and museums, Mayawati said Dalits will come with Modi if he doesn’t show any bias in respecting their saints and icons, but “theatrics” like visiting the house of Dalit will not have any impact.

Addressing mediapersons here on her 59th birthday, Mayawati claimed NDA was working not for the common people, but to implement the RSS’ main Hindutva agenda.
