Ministers to get I&B help for Twitter, FB accounts

Javadekar on Friday wrote to all the ministers that his ministry would facilitate the working of their Twitter and Facebook accounts.

With Prime Minister Narendra Modi leading from the front in using social media like Twitter to great effect, his Council of Ministers is set to follow suit with the Information and Broadcasting Ministry setting-up a “Social Media Communication Hub” to facilitate ministers in highlighting the achievements and policy initiatives of their respective ministries in the social media space.

I&B Minister Prakash Javadekar on Friday wrote to all the ministers, informing them that his ministry would facilitate the working of their Twitter and Facebook accounts and asked them to utilise the newly created hub.

Javadekar informed his ministerial colleagues that a “New Media Wing” had been set up in the I&B Ministry for “effective dissemination of information and to provide government communication a robust mechanism on the various social media platforms”.
