Asserting that government needs to follow up its assurances with regard to division of Andhra Pradesh with concrete action, senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu on Sunday said his party will decide its approach vis-a-vis Telangana bill as per government’s response.

“We are for division. We are committed to take care of the concerns of Seemandhra. There is no conflict between the two, except some minor things,” he said.

Naidu has earlier held discussions with the senior Congress and government leaders on the details of the Telangana bill on various issues concerning division.

“Mere words will not suffice. It has to be followed by legislative action and financial sanction,” he said.

Citing an example, the BJP leader said it is the responsibility of the Centre to see that residuary Andhra Pradesh does not face any financial troubles post division as it would be deprived of the revenue generated in Hyderabad.

“When I explained this issue, they said we will refer the matter to 14th Finance Commission. But, Finance Commission is an independent commission. If they give their report later, how can the state manage till then,” he said.

“The ball is in their (Congress and government) court now,” he added.

What kind of country we are living? Political parties for their benefit divide the state in the name of development. Who will gain from this division? No one, only political parties will gain. The Britishers divide the country and now the same thing are done by the political parties. Is it this our independent country. On every Independent day every politicians show their patriotism they talk about unity but for their personal sake they divide the society in the name of religion, castes, reservation and nothing takes place then divide the state. My dear fellow Indian brothers and sisters why we common citizens did not ask our political leaders who have given them this right to divide the state?

Read Telangana history ,then comment . people become so biased that they forget using their brain. Telangana region is the only one region in India who fought with the then ruler and 1000s died to become part of India. They are not asking for a separate country or joining in Pak but demerge (THE EARLY ER 1956 ,which was a separate Hyderabad /Nizam state ,same was merged by force with Andhra ) a state with in India, same like ur andhra gparents asked and got the andhra state from Madras state in 1953..
