From Ram temple to law on cow slaughter, VHP presents its wishlist

To a question on invitation extended to Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was a "formality" which should be allowed to happen.

As the Narendra Modi government prepares to take over, BJP’s affiliate outfit VHP today came out with a wishlist ranging from Ram Temple to law on cow slaughter which it wants to be addressed within the Constitutional framework.

Among other issues which it wants to be addressed are Common Civil Code and saving the “enduring holistic culture” by incorporating its “vitals in the educational curriculum” and legal prohibition on “horizontal religious conversions”.

Addressing a press conference here, VHP International President Ashok Singhal said the absolute majority that BJP got under the leadership of Modi stands for triumph of the ideas and principles of Gandhiji’s Ram Rajya (Welfare State) and Suraajya (Good Governance). To a question on construction of Ram Temple, Singhal said that with the formation of a strong government at the centre, it would be definitely built “strongly”.

When pressed to specify a timeline, he said there was no need for impatience. He claimed that the starting point for “Temple development will be to ensure autonomy for Sri Ram Janmabhumi Mandir and the lakhs of Hindu Temples taken over by the governments”. Singhal listed several other issues which he said were related to Hindutva and could be worked out within the framework of the Indian Constitution.

Saving the Ganges from pollution and ensuring its perennial flow, Law against cow slaughter, Common Civil Code and saving the “enduring holistic culture” by incorporating its “vitals in the educational curriculum” and legal prohibition on “horizontal religious conversions” were demands which could be fulfilled through the Constitution, he said.

To a question on invitation extended to Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was a “formality” which should be allowed to happen.

He added that India should have good behaviour towards its neighbours.

Let's have a suggestion box infront of 7 RCR. everyone can drop in their wish list there. MPs can give their wish for ministry. Economicists can drop their suggestion of running the Indian economy. RSS and VHP can give their wish list of what needs to be built. A really big box, which we will never open.

Now VHP is pressing NaMo to build Strong Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Will Modi pursue concept of Welfare State? He is for free market economy. No free bees can be expected. Will he provide free medical aid to all? Will he allow free education to all upto higher Secondary school level? Will NaMo share Kabob with Sharif, Karzai, Ms Chaudhary, oom, et al?Why this extravaganza? Why waste so much on frivolous function? A simple swearing ceremony would serve the purpose. Let us save or donate this much for food to people below poverty line. Is it selling NaMo to the world. Saarc meeting is due in 90 days in any case. Manmohan Singh never did this kind of drama. Will inflation come under control in 6 months or take 10 years? Will FDI disallowed in all sectors since BJP opposed it tooth and nail? Will NaMo allow Tesco, Walmart, Macro to open their outlets? Can Modi now answer these queries or remain silent as after Godhra Riots 2002. Where 2000 innocent people died due to faulty BJP policies? I would urge none of his proxies should answer. Let it come horses mouth. Let us see whether he has 56 inch chest of much lesser than that!

No matter how many times certain things have been debunked, like 2002, some fanatics will keep propping up the same stuff like broken records. The SAARC invitation is a matter of international relationships, if you do not understand the implications of such functions, you must perhaps seek some observational education.Learning doesn't hurt.

Religious conversion of poor Hindus to Christainity based on false promise should be stopped as the first priority of the BJP government.

All religious insutions, including Hindu ones, should be treated equally by the government, and all rules derived from the divide and rule policies of the British should go once and for all. But these insutions should have strict government oversight to ensure that money is not stolen by individuals and serves the purposes intended for. There is certainly a sane spot between 100% autonomy and total government control.
