In the run-up to the 2014 Lok Sabha elections,Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday restarted his blog after a gap of almost two years. Till 2011,the blog by the JD(U) leader had been a strong mouthpiece for his political ideology and the achievements of his government.

However,Nitish had stopped updating his blog since the later half of 2011.

In his earlier blog posts, the Bihar Chief Minister had written primarily about the policy decisions taken by his government in the state. He had also used his blog to urge people to vote in large numbers in the previous Bihar Assembly elections.

The blog by the JD(U) leader significantly targets young readers as the posts have often been about issues concerning youths in the state.

With this move,Nitish has once again become one of the few politicians like veteran BJP leader L K Advani who post blogs to connect with people. With the re-launch of his blog ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, one may expect some political fireworks, especially in wake of the recent political developments at the national level.
