This is his consuency. Why he is denied permission in the consuency he is contesting. Better postpone the polls in varanasi, if EC thinks the security situation can't be handled.

How can the EC say they will not allow a candidate to hold a rally in the very consuency he is contesting from and citing security as an excuse? The EC's counter that out of three things requested (rally, meeting eminent citizens and arti), they gave permission for two is like you ordering a McDonalds meal and getting only the coke and fry, leaving out the main meal.

an electoral officer's decision to reject a nomination of a candidate is to be changed as itallows a biased official can ruin the chances of the candidate. It is too big an issue to be decided by single individual and leaves the entire process of election at the mercy of some individuals.Either a panel has to be formed or all rejections should be vetted byChief Election Commissioner or his office this case an officer has denied permission to hold rally. It would have been a non issue had he given permission.
