Samajwadi Party leader Abu Azmi has courted a fresh controversy with his statement suggesting death penalty for women who go for sex with out without consent. The statement by the Maharashtra leader has evoked sharp criticism from across political fraternity and as well as other sections of the society.
The latest criticism for the Samajwadi Party leader has come from within his family. Bollywood actress Ayesha Takia, who is married to the son of Abu Azmi, has disapproved of the comments of her father-in-law.
She took to twitter to express her displeasure over the statement of Azmi, saying she and her husband were “embarrassed and ashamed”.

Takia further tweeted that the she and her husband did not share the mindset of Azmi, terming his comments as “disrespectful to women”.
