manmohan-m The video lists Manmohan Singh’s achievements

It is a bit late in the day, but the Indian National Congress has released a video highlighting the achievements of its outgoing Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh.

The video, posted on the official YouTube account of the party on May 13, appears to have been made like a campaign video. However, it has been released a day after the last phase of polling, almost like an afterthought.

At the moment it appears like a farewell message from the party to the man who led its government for a decade. In fact, the 50-second video is titled ‘Thank You, Dr Manmohan Singh’.

The video lists all his ‘achievements’ like becoming the world’s third largest economy, 88% increased in installed power capacity and addition of 2 lakh km of paved roads.

We can’t help but think this video could have been of much better use had it been released a few weeks back.

7 times increase in penger volume for Civil Aviation, is this seriously an achievement for any PM or its government?Don't you guys think that the credit goes to corporate houses which are working on razor thin margins to be compeive and lend benefits to its consumers. As a matter of fact the government had made multiple bailout plans and had infused 1000's of crore rupees to save the sinking Air India. If the penger volume has been increased by 7x then why didn't it benefited your own airline company. Do you have answer to this?Probably if you'd have had curb the taxes on Airline industry, the credit would have gone to you, but this is not the fact.Secondly you are mentioning 26 times increase (in rural density) in telecom sector, here the credit goes to technology advancement and impact of globalization which makes it possible for an rural indian to have mobile within their reach. Now Mobile is no more a luxury in India but a necessity for every individual. India is one of largest market for telecom. Look at the growing potion, and obviously there is going to be a huge demand in this industry in future as well. In Fact you've been imposing retrospective taxes on the corporatesternet reach - 100 times more since 2004, do you really think that you have done something on this? This is a internet era dude, and the demand is tend to increase. It is a simple technology thing that the internet is made available using GSM/CDMA devices. There is no rocket science in it that requires huge investments. The credit goes to Private sector who with the help of technology advancement have made it available as a part of their business.2 lakh km of paved roads: which roads are you talking about, roads with pots? Even today we Indians do not have even basic infrastructure, no proper road safety policy and its implementation. Please stop taking credit of something which you haven't done.
