After he was not allowed by the Candian government to hold any political rallies in their soil, after a Sikh rights group complained against him, Punjab Congress president Captain Amarinder Singh has decided to go the virtual way. He will soon be seen addressing his prescheduled programmes via Skype.
The party has also hired a battery of lawyers to fight the complaint filed by Sikhs for Justice, an anti-India splinter group.
Confirming the report, Kapurthala MLA Rana Gurjit Singh, who is incharge of the programmes in Canada, said all the programmes will go as per the schedule and Captain will address the Punjabis living in Canada through Skype.
He said the party may also organise a function in the US near the Canadian border so that those who were unable to meet Amarinder may do so.
When asked about the reason behind Amarinder’s decision to cancel the Canada visit, leaders clarified that the Canada programme has only been resheduled and that he will be visiting the country soon.
They pointed out that since some legal impediments were created by the vested interests and anti-India forces, apparently to help the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Amarinder decided to get the issue resolved before he visits the country.
