Snubbing his own party, former Karnataka chief minister B S Yeddyurappa today praised Congress president Sonia Gandhi and her party.

“I have to praise Sonia. I noticed that Congress party and its people are united and supportive if any of their party members gets into trouble,” said Yeddyurappa. “In Congress, whenever a prominent leader faces allegations, the party rises to protect him… But in BJP,people will be waiting for a person to get into problems and to sideline him. In BJP,people try to pull the chair and grab someone else’s position also,” he said.

He also called Sadananda Gowda a “betrayer” for not vacating the chief minister’s post. His outburst came a day after nine ministers submitted their resignations to him. Asked if he would resign from the party,Yeddyurappa said: “I will take a decision after consulting my ministers, leaders”.
