JD(U) president Sharad Yadav on Tuesday described the lynching of a Muslim man in Dadri over beef rumours as “horrible and deporable”, and said that incidents of communal violence have increased in the country since the BJP came to power at the Centre.
He said that communal incidents were taking place because the BJP’s ideology was not in conformity with the Constitution, which provide for a secular society.
“Not a single day has passed when Hindutva-driven outfits did not make a disgusting comment that had the potential of triggering a communal violence,” he added.
“Who were the people who attacked a poor Muslim except Hindu fundamentalists? Can our country progress if such communal violence happens every now and then? he posed the questions to PM Narendra Modi.
The JD(U) chief also criticised the BJP for promising scooty and laptops to students in Bihar if voted to power. Terming it as mockery of democracy, he reminded the BJP that it had opposed such freebies when other parties had promised them in the past. Such gimmicks, according to him, would not help the BJP, and the grand alliance of the RJD, JD(U) and the Congress would still win a majority in Bihar.
