In yet another outburst against former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, social activist Anna Hazare said the former was no better than any other political leader and that he now believed that Kejriwal had stopped putting the country before his own interests. Hazare said this in a three-page press statement issued by his office on Thursday evening in which he once again reiterated his support for West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Hazare had written to all political parties asking their opinion on 17 points that he had raised regarding fighting corruption.
According to him, other than the Trinamool Congress chief, no other party had replied or agreed to his points. Hazare’s 17-point agenda had mentioned security of farmland, anti-corruption drive and a market for agricultural produce among other issues. “I had handed over the letter to Kejriwal also and would have supported him if he, like Banerjee, too agreed to the points. However, till date I have not received any reply from him,” he said.
