The three BJD candidates for the Rajya Sabha polls were elected unopposed Friday after the nomination papers of three independent candidates were rejected. Odisha Assembly secretary and returning officer A K Sarangi said BJD candidates Prasanna Acharya, Bishnu Das and Nakkinti Bhaskar Rao have been elected unopposed to Rajya Sabha. The nomination papers of independent candidates were rejected as they lacked the requisite security deposit and the number of proposers for their candidature.
