‘Pakistan raising Kashmir at UN is like Miyan ki daud masjid tak,’ says Syed Akbaruddin

"If they (Pakistan) focus on an issue which has not been on the discussion table in the UN now for decades, not for years, for decades..., if this is what they want to focus on, so be it. To be his own...Miyan ki daud masjid tak," Akbaruddin said.

Taking a jibe at Pakistan, a top Indian diplomat has said Islamabad’s decision to raise the Kashmir issue at the UN, which has not been discussed at the world body for decades, is like ‘Miyan ki daud masjid tak’. India, on the other hand, is focused on progressive, forward-looking agenda during the UN General Assembly session beginning on Monday, India’s Permanent Representative to the UN Syed Akbaruddin told reporters on Saturday.

“I have outlined in our approach, that is progressive forward-looking. We are visionary in our goals. If on the other hand there are other countries, who as you say, focus on yesterday’s issues then they are yesterday’s people,” Akbaruddin said in response to a question on reports that Pakistan plans to raise the Kashmir issue at the UN. Pakistan’s new Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi is scheduled to address the UN General Assembly this week.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj would deliver her address on September 23. “If they (Pakistan) focus on an issue which has not been on the discussion table in the UN now for decades, not for years, for decades…, if this is what they want to focus on, so be it. To be his own…Miyan ki daud masjid tak,” Akbaruddin said, referring to a popular Urdu proverb meaning some people think within a limited focus and are unable to think beyond that.

A day earlier, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry had said that Abbasi would be raising the Kashmir issue at the UN.

Kashmiries are in miserable situation since 1947. Indian army have occupied the territory illegally and involved in killing of innocent people. Indian army also involved in rape cases. It is the responsibilities of Pakistan to support kashmiries at different forums.

perhaps you should find out the meaning of "illegal" ,,, if indian army wanted kashmir would have turned out to be gaza strip or a rakhine state ,,, indian army has lost its soldiers ,, many civillians have also died from millitant attacks ,,, the whole world has seen what pakistan army did to bengali population in 1971 ,, only a insane person would believe that pakistan will treat kashmiris as their own ,,, if pakistan really wanted peace with india it would not have started all those wars in the past ,,, and instead of getting involved in millitancy it would have started bilateral peace talks ,,, kashmir will only get dictatorship or army rule from pakistan

Responsiblity of Pakistan is to free the once independent country of Balochstan where pak army is in massacre mode as it did in Bangladesh. Baloch are peace freedom loving people Pakistan is in an ethnic cleansing campaign to get total control of baloch resources.

Kashmiri muslims have driven out Kashmiri Pandits with violence, death, rape and threats to the latter. This is Karma boomerang on the Kashmiri Muslims. There is still hope for reconciliation and end of the miseries of both the muslims and pandits by allowing the pandits to settle back in the valley and by Kashmir accepting to join Indian union as a full fledged Indian state with all the rights and duties given to the other Indian states. There is absolutely no other way out. interference will only give more misery to the Kashmiri muslims but not independance. Just be assured.

Why bother? Pakistan is on the way to becoming a colony of China. China has 3 other colonies, Pakistan will be the fourth. (1) Xinjiang: China has occupied Xinjiang since 1940's. Muslims of Xinjinag are 3rd class citizens. They are forbidden to fast for Ramadan (Ramazan) Muslim women are thrown in jail if they wear the hijab. Prayer times are restricted. (2) Inner Mon a: Buddhists have no religious freedom. (3) Tibet: China occupied Tibet in 1950's driving out the Dalai Lama to India. Buddhists are treated worse than slaves. The monks are regularly beaten without any reason. Buddhist women routinely raped by the Chinese police. (4) Pakistan: The fourth colony of China in the near future. CPEC is an excuse for China to occupy Pakistan. It will happen. Chinese are not like the British. There is no word for human rights in the Chinese language. They mean business. There is only one way with the Chinese - Chinese way or the highway. They will do in Pakistan what they are doing in Tibet.

OIC listens to them. Chinese listens to them. There may be other countries like turkey who listen to them. If India claims the whole of Kashmir belongs to India, why is India not working to make Pakistan vacate the POK. The reality is that India doesn't want POK to merge with India. You remember 1971 when India didn't use 90 000 pak prisoners to solve Kashmir Issue. India has not shown any interest in merging Bangladesh during 1971. The fact is that India doesn't want more Muslims into India.
