President Pranab Mukherjee on Thursday cautioned that adequate job creation is not being done for around 10 million persons entering the job market every year and this will impede reaping true benefits of the country’s demographic dividend. There is an urgent need for management education in India to complement training for entrepreneurship, the President said at a special session to commemorate All India Management Association’s (AIMA) diamond jubilee year.

“Every year 10 million persons are entering into the job market and not adequate job creation is being done,” the President said, adding that “that solution have to depend on startups, we shall have to start small businesses”.

Mukherjee said India has the largest number of youth and working forces and it may have this advantage for some time more. “… but this dividend will not pay as a true dividend if we cannot convert the youth forces, working forces into productive employment.”

Referring to the need for developing management and entrepreneurial skills in the country, Mukherjee said that the country needs its young people to start more businesses and create more employment opportunities instead of looking for jobs. “For that, we require a huge management cadre.”

Mukherjee added that the world was changing fast and technological changes would bring disruptions. “Managing the disruptions is the job of true managers,” he noted.

Observing that India was one of the poorest countries of the world for more than a half century (1900-1950), he said today India is one of the fastest growing emerging economies in the world.

“We have made remarkable progress in every area. At the end I must say we have managed well,” he said.

The first citizen seems to be losing his balance before laying down office. He has been a finance minister in the dynastic congress government and hence should have suggested a acceptable workable solution with his experience [albeit of squandering public wealth as practiced by congress]. When a corrupt society has to be turned around it's a painful and thankless job, which the present government is doing. And look the way commies / congress are supporting - only engaged in flaring agitations to undermine governments efforts

Job creation is at a 7 year low . According to the Indian labor Bureau , in 8 core sectors only 1 Lakh 35 thousand jobs were created in 2015 , compared to 1.2 MILLION jobs in 2009.

Honorable President - You were important cabinet member of UPA-1 and UPA-2 and member of several ministries of congress era. What was done on these years? is this failure of BJP? Who should be held responsible? It is very easy to comment but not giving the record of your own work and party does not seem justified. People in your position should give the suggestions to solve and not ask the question. This does not reflect very well on you being an old life time congress member.

The President is trying for a position again in Congress. Who knows he can become a PM if that is allowed and create jobs for the 10 million people infused into the market every year.

How can the President make such an observation? Did one not witness the line up of Ministers blowing their trumpet regarding the fantastic work being performed by them in a short span of 3 years. Contrary to which we are witnessing the farmers agitation this week, which reflects on the actual results of their super performance at ground level. All good work are due to the Modiji and his loud mouthed self praising ministers and all minuses are due to the mismanagement of the economy by the uneducated Nehru and Manmohan
