Will not accept cross-border terrorism as ‘new normal’ in bilateral ties: India to Pakistan

On the Nagrota militant attack two days back, MEA said, "We are awaiting specific details before taking the next step."

Sending a strong message to Pakistan on cross-border terrorism, India on Thursday said it will never accept continued cross-border terrorism as the new normal. In a statement to the media, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Vikas Swarup said, “Stop cross-border terrorism and then we can talk.” Slamming Pakistan for fomenting terrorism, Swarup said that India hasn’t got any request for a bilateral meeting with the neighbouring country and that India is in favour of talks but not in this atmosphere of terror.

On the Nagrota militant attack two days back, MEA said, “We are awaiting specific details before taking the next step. Government has taken Nagrota attack very seriously and will do what it feels is required for our national security.” Commenting on the SAARC meeting, which India boycotted, MEA said, “It was not India which scuttled SAARC process, unanimous members wrote to chair Nepal that atmosphere not conducive.”

On the criticism that the attacks increased after the surgical strikes, he said, “It was our assessment at that
point of time that there was an imminent threat based on hard intelligence about the location of armed terrorists who were ready to infiltrate from across the LoC and carry out terrorist activities on our side.

“This imminent threat was successfully neutralised through the surgical strikes. We should not look only at what
happened but also at what did not happen, what was prevented through successful neutralisation of terrorists.” On being asked to comment on the recent elevation of General Qamar Javed Bajwa as the new Pakistan Army Chief, MEA said, “Change of Army Chief is internal matter of Pakistan, but we will judge Pakistan by its behaviour and its track record.”

On Pakistan suggesting a joint probe in Uri strike, which India maintains was carried out by Pakistan-based terrorists, Swarup said this has happened in past also and instead of acting on the evidence provided by India, Islamabad engages in “pure propaganda ploys”. “Pakistan called for an international inquiry, we said we are happy even with their domestic inquiry. When we are giving you fingerprints, DNA of the terrorists who we believe came
from Pakistan why Pakistan cannot match this with its national database?” he said.

The media briefing comes nearly two days after Jammu was rocked by two terror attacks in which seven army personnel, including two Major-rank officers, were killed and eight other security-men, including a BSF DIG, were injured, before six heavily-armed terrorists were eliminated in separate fierce encounters.

Each time porky terrorists infiltrates and causes harm,---the Indian army answers with X2 retaliation with severe damages to PORKIS like the recent POKI DGMO's call to PARRIKAR stop the humiliation when Indian army destro 15 porky terror posts in punitive strike,----this shows that NDA is not interested in MUTTON BIYANI TALKS like CONGIES,---- for TAT retaliation than new normal bilateral diplomacy talks is the BJP motto,---Jai Hind.

sullu mia, we cannot goto International court.Do you remeber stani plan "Atlantique" that was shot down by the Indian Air Force in 1999? The stan government had spent close to 25 million stani rupees (approx. $400,000) on the case and lost the case.

As Shivshankar Menon, in his quotation of an Israeli agent said, it is like hedging the weeds (which grow back).lt;br/gt;lt;br/gt;Such strikes need to be conducted over and over... it's not a one off thing.

Don't meet these guys - I would suggest closing emby doors too, have them pack up and leave. What's the point? stan wants India to amend its conclusion, it wants new territories, it wants waters, lands, rivers (not sure if it wants people too), and what does it offer in return? It wants so much, and then it it will want more and more and more - BUT the million dollar question is, in return for all of this, what does stan offer in return? Trade? No. Economic integration? No. lt;br/gt;lt;br/gt;What exactly does stan offer in return for territories, resources and a world of tangibles? Nothing! It is a begger - it has nothing to trade all of these with or for!!!lt;br/gt;lt;br/gt;No one respects beggers - particular beggers with self-righteous complex who think it is their right to keep begging.

I doubt it would hurt that much - because 4 billion rupees, in USD isn't that much. A country like India can absorb that much cost easily (not even 1-3% of its GDP).

It's not up to India to accept or not accept unfortunately. Terrorism already IS the new normal and has been for several years in the absence of hard deterrents against stan. The ISI must be hit directly as our killing their foot soldiers is not hurting them at all. How that is done--covert or overt--is upto our military people but it must happen and soon.

Please let all Bharaiya sainiks at the border have bullet proof vests, steel helmet with sophisticated guns. They should be wearing the bullet proof vests almost all time even while sleeping, eating or resting in camps. Kashmir areas are cold so it would not make them feel hot. While some soldiers are resting or sleeping in camps others should be on guard 24 hrs on shift duty basis so that terrorists can be killed before they can hurl grenades etc. Commanders with night vision goggles should be checking for the terrorists infiltration at night. If these steps are taken then terrorists cannot do much harms. The pain is too much for the nation.

Kashmir Pot was brought to Boiling Point by the much respected, adored Chacha Nehru.lt;br/gt;Then his Daughter Indira hi after the decisive War of 1971 let the stanis off the Hook without getting the Kashmir solveddia could have gone to Intenational Court of Justice against stan for War Crimes. This Kashmir problem is not Modis doing he has inherited it from others. What dialogue you want with stan over Kashmir? It is very clear what they want and it is equally clear what we want. The Locus Standii of India is unailable and stan has no Legal Rights whatsoever on Kashmir.
