Congress today sought to reach out to the people of Seemandhra, saying the A K Antony committee would hear them out and address their concerns as far as possible to their satisfaction. Asked about the agitation in Seemandhra,AICC General Secretary in charge Andhra Pradesh affairs,Digvijaya Singh, said a “strong reaction” from Seemandhra after announcement of formation of Telangana was natural.

The Congress party shall look into all the issues raised by them,he said, adding, the A K Antony committee, with himself,M Veerappa Moily and Ahmed Patel as members, shall talk to all concerned — NGOs,representatives and all political leaders who are agitated. He appealed to NGOs and employees who have called for a strike from August 12 not to resort to such a step, and said the committee, which will start functioning from today, shall try to resolve the issues and see that the concerns of NGOs,and all those “who feel deprived” would be addressed as far as possible to their satisfaction.

Referring to the reaction of the BJP on the Poonch killings,he urged the opposition party not to do politics in international affairs and matters of national security,be restrained and not to issue provocative statements. “Let’s stand behind the government as we did during the Kargil war,” the Congress leader added.
