Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi along with Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad will be attending the funeral of Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa. Gandhi would be leaving for Chennai soon after the obituary in Parliament, along with Azad and party general secretary in-charge of TN affairs Mukul Wasnik.

Party chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said Gandhi will pay tributes to Jayalalithaa at the Rajaji Hall where the Chief Minister’s body has been placed. Thereafter, he said, Gandhi will also attend her funeral.

Jayalalithaa, hospitalised since September 22, suffered a cardiac arrest on Sunday and passed away late last night.
