CHIEF MINISTER Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said “no Indian should be hesitant” about being proud of his or her Hindu identity. Addressing an event on ‘Hindvi Swaraj Diwas’, organised at Lucknow University on the anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s coronation, Adityanath asked if like Hinduism, any other religion can claim its voice for ahimsa (non-violence), abhay (fearless) and satya (truth) — the three pillars of ‘Hindu sanatan sanskriti’.

Referring to Swami Vivekanand’s speech in Chicago, he said: “At Chicago, when asked about Hinduism, Swami Vivekanad had said that he was proud to be a Hindu. I believe that no Indian should be hesitant about this.”

He added that the aim of Hinduism is ‘Satyam Shivam Sundaram’. “Hindu is the amrit rasdhara going towards the ocean of truth… Ahimsa, abhay and satya are the three pillars of Hindu sanatan sanskriti, and that is why we feel proud in being a Hindu,” he said.

Claiming that “distorted portrayal of history has tried to bound our great personalities”, Adityanath said: “But true history is where we remember those heroes centuries after they are gone and today, this function tells that Shivaji was great and Aurangzeb was not.”

Governor Ram Naik, who was also present at the event, said that last year, during the same function, he inaugurated a grand statue of Shivaji in the university. He asked the university to hold for this programme at a bigger level.

“Shivaji’s name is on top of world’s best strategists. He was a true secular leader with a lot of Muslims (holding) important designations during his regime,” he added.

Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma, Uttarakhand leader Bhagat Singh Koshyari and University Vice-Chancellor S P Singh were among the others present at the event.

Yes its true, we must express our Iden y on the occasions when called for. It is appreciable that Muslims never do a thing which is against their religious traditions but majority of them hardly miss an opportunity to demean Hinduism. Muslim disliking Hindu way of living can be understood but people who call them Hindus but always comments against Hinduism and its rich culture is a matter of concern and such anti Hinduism shown by pseudos Hindus must be discarded from the religion. Such people should not be allowed to interpret the religious definition suiting their whims and wills.

Wah yogi wah, atleast first CM of up doing yoga so well, in entire histroy of UP, he did not loot like Mayawati, practise nepostism like mulayam, and never chased naked girls through the raj bhavan and rape them, like ND Tiwari, you are like a breath of fresh air, a kan phata nath aghori, like a lotus in the keechad of UP, you have the disc in your right hand, the conch in your left, you have maha guru gorakh in your heart, shri modi in your shoulders, shri doval as your eyes, burn the ingrained corruption, the evil, the nepotsim, sifarish culture, may god bless you

CALL CENTER FOR UP OR TWITTER ACCOUNT : So that Yogi Ji will be free from all issues :-) -- I suggest - He should set up Call center in Lucknow and keep in his direct strict control via confidential officers OR he can call me to set up work flow for him ........ No point tel departments for account . He should own central - grievance logging center and..................... his direct officers should send actions to be taken to Various Departments and monitor if they are doing right work . I think will be right approach .

Its sad that in a secular country like India where everyone has a freedom, we have pla minority politics to such an extent that 80 percent of the population hesitates to recognize their iden y as a Hindu, one of the most liberal religions of the world. I am a Hindu and I am proud to be a part of this country alongside my Muslim, Christian, Buddhist, Sikh and Zorastrian brothers and sisters. This country belongs to us all and we should all be proud of cal ourselves with whatever we truly believe in.

I am Indian and Hindu. By saying that whether anything wrong. Why so many comments about politics and govt instead identifying yourself but by giving many wrong meanings about yourself. Of course, India was ruled by Mughal and later British, they spoiled the Indian tradition & culture and now the world is slowly fil with violence and no peace. If you feel as a human so great and intellectual, kindly do research and find something that feeds you everything without kil animals atleast. Jain Hind
