YSR updates Prime Minister on Satyam case

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy briefed Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on actions taken by the state in the Rs 7,800 crore financial fraud in Satyam,whose founder Ramalinga Raju has been arrested.

Reddy spoke to Singh over telephone and apprised him of the situation,officials in the CM’s office said in Hyderabad.

The state government had ordered a CID probe into the fraud that was disclosed by Raju on Wednesday. Raju and his brother Rama Raju were arrested last night and were questioned for nearly 18 hours,even as separate teams from market regulator SEBI and Serious Fraud Investigation Office of the Corporate Affairs Ministry were camping in the city to quiz the IT major’s founder.
