Punjab Youth Congress President Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary on Friday visited DMCH in Ludhiana to inquire into the health of Rajwinder Singh — son of Malkit Singh,Congress candidate from Bhai Rupa zone in Rampura Phul constituency — who sustained injuries in Thursday’s firing that left a PPP leader dead in Adampur village in Bathinda.

Slamming the SAD-BJP government,Chaudhary said: “Badals are the murderers of democracy in Punjab. Every other day, there is a shootout where innocent people are killed in broad daylight. On May 8,Youth Congress Vidhan Sabha president Patti Sukhraj Singh was killed because he was contesting for block samiti polls and was a sure shot winner. Adesh Pratap Singh Kairon (son-in-law of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal) could not digest this and was murdered.”

“Now,a shootout at Adampur village in Bathinda, which is the home constituency of MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal, clearly exposes the intentions of the Badal family,” he added.

Advising the chief minister to immediately relieve Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal from the home portfolio and also look for a “competent” police chief,Chaudhary said: “While Sukhbir is the worst home minister a state can have, the DGP is the weakest police chief in the history of Punjab.”
