A 25-year-old trainee police sub inspector, Anamika Khushwaha, allegedly committed suicide in Sagar on Monday. Her death created a sensation because she had been recruited through an examination conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board.

Sagar SP Sachin Atulkar, however, told The Indian Express that Anamika’s father had alleged that his daughter was being harassed for dowry. He said the death was not linked to the Vyapam scam.

The Congress, however, alleged that the death was linked to the scam and that she had been receiving threat calls for the last few days. The state government, however, asserted that Anamika’s death was not linked to the scam and appeared to stem from family problems.

Married a year ago, Anamika was undergoing training at Sagar’s police academy for the last few months. She was recruited through the examination held in 2014, which is not being investigated by the Special Task Force (STF).

Early on Monday, the trainee PSI jumped into the lake adjacent to the academy.

Her husband works with a private bank, while her father is a head constable.

What happened to "Mann ki baat"? Obviously, Chauhan is desperate to hide his own tracks! BJP is in tatters in UP because of lack of leadership, "leaders" like Kalraj or Rajnath (or MM Joshi for that matter!) don't inspire people's confidence. The story is same in Karnataka, another erstwhile BJP citadel. The very name of dy, Eeshwarappa, Jagadish Shettar etc triggers revulsion among people, the last Loksabha elections were the best proof! The same will now happen in MP and CG.

Already around 50 persons related to this scam died under mysterious cirstances. We can't treat all this death as either natural or suicide deaths.
