The Congress Monday attacked PM Narendra Modi over his silence on “inflammatory statements” made by the BJP and Sangh Parivar leaders arguing there was a “hiatus” between what he preaches and practises.

AICC spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi said that Modi speaks about communal harmony and inclusion but “maintains complete silence when Yogi Aditynath, Giriraj Singh, Ashok Singhal and Mohan Bhagwat speak”. “ Hitting out at the Centre in the context of Modi’s public function on Teacher’s Day, he said “no previous Prime Minister or President has by a diktat said students from Class I must listen to him”.
