Vyapam scam: No foul play suspected in Jabalpur college dean’s death, says police

64-year-old Sharma, who was said to be probing fake examinees in the Vyapam scam, was found dead under mysterious circumstances at a hotel in south-west Delhi's Dwarka on Sunday.

A day after Dr Arun Sharma, the dean of Jabalpur Medical College, was found dead under mysterious circumstances, a five-member medical board from Safdarjung hospital conducted a postmortem and, according to sources, found no internal or external injuries on the body.

The victim’s viscera has been preserved for toxicological analysis.

“The postmortem did not reveal any substantial findings, since no external or internal wounds were identified. We will be submitting a preliminary report by Tuesday,” a source at Safdarjung hospital said.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Police Commissioner, B S Bassi, said that while prima facie no foul play was suspected, investigators were probing various angles in the case.
