Following fresh revelations about Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh’s family members having substantial holdings in the company owned by Vakamulla Chander Shekhar, former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, demanded that the CM come clean on the controversy and answer all questions on the loans.

“It’s not my son (Arun Singh),but me who is asking for answers about shares his wife Pratibha Singh, son Vikramaditya Singh and daughter Aparjit Singh hold in Tarini,” he said.

Speaking to mediapersons Dhumal said that while Virbhadra Singh and his wife Pratibha Singh’s affidavits show both children as dependents, details available show they owned shares in the company of Vakamulla Chander Shekhar. This is a vital fact concealed in the affidavit,he charged.

“When the Chief Minister has nearly Rs 10 crore in his bank account, what was the need for raising private loan of Rs 3.90 cr from a person whose hydel project in the state was given extension, and also restored to his company after being cancelled. The proposal to re-allot the project was turned down by cabinet thrice and High Court also did not accept his plea but the government gave the project back “.

Dhumal said the BJP wanted to hold discussion on all these issues but this was not allowed by the Speaker.

He said the Chief Minister has been maintaining silence on the issue of loan though his ministers have admitted that loan was raised at 12 per cent interest. “I have asked Chief Minister’s reply twice before today, but no one is coming forward,” he said. Dhumal said the BJP would stall proceedings in the House tomorrow also.
