India is a free country. Muslim is not a race, but a very aggressive religion. If one is practicing it, it can be create tension. Be wise and become a normal peaceful Hindu, then no poblem will arise.

Quite true, such things happen because if you rent to a Muslim family they are bound to practice their religious beliefs, which mean cutting the throat of cows and sheep during ID. Hindus do not like this practice and have been against it for very long time. No wonder most Muslims live in their own enclaves. Show me one Muslim country where Hindus are treated as equals.

Do not Cry and Try some where else. You will always find good people. I have also had the same experience in Denmark some 40 years ago.

These two incidents back to back need some deeper study. Why Hindu have a distaste for Muslims despite the fact that Hindus don't have a history of religious hatred and discrimination. Two points : 1. The 800 years of Mughal/Muslim presence in India is highly barbaric which shall put ISIS, Boko Haram, Al-shabab all put together to shame. There has been no attempt to address this historical concern --rather there has been a concerted effort on part of the political cl to pamper Muslim hotheads. 2. we are talking here of religious discrimination. But can the religion which the two victims here profess, claim to be free from this scourge itself. There are a umpteen number of verses in their Book which openly call for killing kafirs if don't convert to Islam. The bloody history of this so called "religion of peace" of past many many centuries is a living tribute of this cardinal principle of murder and mayhem. If educated youngsters like Zeeshan and Misbah begin to question their mad mullahs and also begin to seek reform in their religion in tune with 21st century that we live in then things will certainly change for the better. The walls of distrust will vanish.

Publicity stunt by this wannabe journalist. The same issue will be faced by Hindus looking for a flat in Muslim areas. Forget about flat, non Muslims have been forced ourtof their homes in Kashmir valley in the name of religion. Why is the media silent on it

instead of opening our minds in this new 21st century ,we r going backward, day by day society is getting intolerant one can see this in comment section of different news papers, people giving different evidence to justify that they are saying right. One thing is true the more we saggregate the more intolerence will increase.

There are enough Muslim flat owners, try those..ie easy. Owners should not tel directly religion is criteria to select Tenant.that create unnecessary issues specially now a days...but can give diff reason if they dont like the person..or simply can say waiting for another person/another profession..

around10 yrs back..when I am looking for house, specific Hindu wont give house for any people who eat non-veg ....its quite acceptable that time..I don't have issue..because there are other available places ..that is the point.. If u look across India..Hindu prfer Hindu..Christian prefer Christians..Muslim prefer Muslims..weather its job, tenant, etc..ie part of the blood....cant change only can reduce issues by giving wrong reasons

Can't understand why such a news is being given a prominence, if the Hindu landlord does not want to rent out his flat to a particular community,i.e his/her choice. This lady should try flats in areas where her community is well represented. Well,it is true that these discriminations have increased from the time of change of govt.

whats the big deal here? Many societies and owners have their own preferences, and this has nothing to do with muslim or non-muslim. Vegetarians prefer renting out their property to vegetarians. Many gujaratis and jains clearly write in newspaperr advertisments 'available for rent only for jain family'. I believe even muslims prefer to rent out to their own people. This has been the case for ages. Why are we fussing about it now? (and even blaming the govt for it)
