With summer arriving in full form,the Capital is expected to start facing the heat by Monday. The Meteorological Department has predicted that Delhi may touch the 40 degrees Celsius mark by Monday.
On Thursday,though the maximum temperature dropped slightly from Wednesdays 38.7 degrees Celsius,temperatures continued to be several degrees above normal,a trend observed for the last one week.
A maximum of 37.4 degrees Celsius and minimum of 22.2 degrees Celsius were recorded on Thursday. For Friday,the Met has predicted similar conditions,with cloudy skies and temperatures of between 38 and 22 degrees Celsius.
Palam and Northern Ridge regions of the city recorded the highest temperatures on Thursday,at a maximum of 38.5 and 38 degrees Celsius respectively,while the minimum recorded early on Thursday morning was 22.7 and 23 degrees Celsius respectively.
Temperatures have seen a steady rise in the city since the month began. While on March 31 the city recorded a maximum of 34.6 degrees Celsius,by April 1 this climbed two degrees to reach 36.5 degree Celsius. It has risen steadily since then,to touch 38.7 degrees on Wednesday.
