Two days after Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar said in Panaji that India would soon build a railway station close to the China border in Arunachal Pradesh, Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu confirmed it on Monday.

“Yes, what the Defence Minister has said is right. But I cannot elaborate on it right now. We will do it at the right moment,” Prabhu said while speaking to media persons outside the 60th Railway Week National Awards function held at IIT-Guwahati.

He added: “Railways has brought about massive changes to China’s economy. Their per capita income is now five times that of India, and most of it is because of railways. We must come out of the ‘chalta hai’ mindset and relook at a lot of issues. We must look at the talents railways has in order to bring about positive changes (to our economy).”
