Stating that Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal was “responsible for the economic crisis in Punjab”,PPCC vice-president Fateh Jung Singh Bajwa on Tuesday asked him to quit the government to allow “the financial position to improve”.

In a statement here,Bajwa said that it was beyond the capacity and control of the Badals to help the state ease out of the ‘economic crisis’ and added that it would be in Punjab’s interests if they opted out of the government. He claimed that Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal was not in control of the administration and that Sukhbir was calling the shots. “Sukhbir has failed on every front and he has learned from his father to speak lies with impunity,” Bajwa said.

He added that it was strange that SAD-BJP government was not ready to issue a white paper on the state’s economic condition. Jung alleged that government properties were being sold or mortgaged to pays salaries of staff. He also rejected Sukhbir’s contention that the state’s financial condition was good.
