The admission procedure for the students of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) to class XI just became a bit easier. Starting this year, students will be able to download their marksheets from the board’s website and use this to seek admission in the junior colleges.

The step is also aimed at ensuring that the students do not need to wait for original marksheets, which take about 10 to 15 days to arrive at the board’s office after the results are declared. This facility will also be available for students wanting to get into Polytechnic and Industrial Training Institute (ITI). Students of Class XII will also be able to apply for their Diploma in Education (DEd) with their marksheet printout.

Sarjerao Jadhav, chairman,MSBSHSE said the board had sent the proposal to the government a few months ago. “We had been in talks for a long time to make this change. Finally,we received a letter from the school education department confirming that the proposal has been approved for the coming academic year,” said Jadhav.

“Till last year, students had to wait for original marksheets. Only after that could we start the process. When it comes to admissions, there are lots of steps involved. This one small change will help us save around 10 days. Once the students gets their originals, their admissions can be confirmed,” said Jadhav.
