Student leader gunned down in Haryana

A student leader was allegedly shot dead Saturday by two motor-cycle borne unidentified assailants over an old rivalry near the Badanpur village here,police said.

Jind: A student leader was allegedly shot dead Saturday by two motor-cycle borne unidentified assailants over an old rivalry near the Badanpur village here,police said.

Dohanakheda resident Pradeep along with his father Chandra Singh and friend Kudlip was returning to his village in a car when two masked men,who were on a motor-cycle,opened fire at them,they said.

Pradeep died on the spot,whereas Singh and Kuldip escaped unhurt,police said.

A MA History student Pradeep was married on January 1,2012.

DSP Rameshwar Lamba said that Pradeep had appeared as a witness in a murder case and received a death threat in this connection. A case has been registered and the matter being probed,he said.

bMinor’s death: Road block in Faridabad

Faridabad: Scores of people staged protest and blocked the road near Patel chowk area here against the alleged killing of a 10-year-old boy and demanded a probe into the incident. Rahul was allegedly kidnapped on March 27 from SGM nagar here by Usman and Pankaj,who were later arrested by police from Meerut’s Bagpat chowk.

The kidnappers confessed to the crime and informed police that they demanded Rs 15 lakh ransom from boy’s family but they had killed the boy after kidnapping and they had thrown his body in forest near Meerut,police said.

Protesters blocked the crossroad near Patel chowk and demanded a government job to a family member and their children’s admission in government school,after intervention and assurance from officials,police managed to disperse the crowd.
