St Stephens College students knifed,robbed

A BSc second-year student and his woman friend were robbed of their wallets and mobile phones on Wednesday.

New Delhi:A BSc second-year student and his woman friend,both students of St Stephen’s College,were robbed of their wallets and mobile phones on Wednesday in Chattra Marg in North Delhi,police said. When they tried to resist the attempt,the youths allegedly stabbed one of the students on the hand. The incident was reported around 6 pm on Wednesday,when Vikram Singh and his friend were walking past the Vice-Chancellor’s office. According to police,two youths approached the students and asked them to hand over their belongings. When they refused,one of the assailants allegedly placed a knife to the woman’s neck,while the other snatched their wallets and mobile phones. When Singh tried stopping them,one of the assailants allegedly stabbed him in the hand and fled the scene. Singh sustained minor injuries,and a case has been registered in the matter.

35 kg charas seized,11 arrested

New Delhi:Eleven persons were arrested with 35 kilograms of charas was seized from Majnu ka Tila by the North Delhi police on Thursday. Police said they had received a tip-off based on which the arrests and seizures were made. A case has been registered at the Civil Lines police station and investigations are underway.
