Short film fest winners to be felicitated today

The Express Short Films Festival organised by The Indian Express and Loksatta saw entries from 109 participants in its first edition

The Express Short Films Festival organised by The Indian Express and Loksatta saw entries from 109 participants in its first edition. The festival had 5 to 15-minute short films in Marathi,Hindi and English by amateur filmmakers,students and film producers.

Actor Sonali Kulkarni and directors Mangesh Hadavale,Bhupal Ramnathkar and Gopi Kukade selected the best short films. The winners will be felicitated at Express Towers on August 27 by Anand Gandhi,director of the film,Ship of Theseus. While Piyush Thakur’s Khara Karodpati (The real millionaire) has been judged the best short film,Mrunmayee K’s G for Doodle became the best film in documentary category. Vishal Kumbhar’s ‘Thembe Thembe Tale Sache’ was adjudged best film on a social cause. Amey Gore won best edited short film award for ‘Face lift’.
