Union Social Justice Minister,Kumari Selja,on Monday sought action against officials innvolved in giving benefits to people whose names were fraudulently included in the list of below poverty line (BPL) families.

Addressing a press conference here today,Selja asked “Why can’t action be taken against officers who framed a list that included people who shouldn’t have been BPL beneficiaries ?’’ She said the money that has been disbursed in the form of different government benefits to the people should be recovered. The concerned officers cannot escape responsibility on the issue and should pay for the fraud which they have committed. She said due to the official connivance in the framing of the list the real people who should have benefitted were left out.” The state needs to act tough,” she added.

The Union Minister lamented that even though Haryana had no shortage of funds there are some constituencies which are being ignored in the disbursal of money.
