Kashi Vidvat Parishad has taken a decision that Sai Baba was neither a god nor a guru, therefore he cannot be worshipped. Kashi Vidvat Parishad has taken a decision that Sai Baba was neither a god nor a guru, therefore he cannot be worshipped.

A two-day-long ‘Dharma Sansad’ convened by the Shankaracharya Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati of Dwarka Peeth on Tuesday passed a resolution that Sai Baba, the 19th century saint from Shirdi, should not be worshipped as a deity by the followers of ‘Sanatan Dharma’.

‘Kashi Vidvat Parishad’ has taken a decision that Sai Baba was neither a god nor a guru, therefore he cannot be worshipped, Rajesh Joshi, the media in-charge for the Dharma Sansad (religious conclave), which was held in Chhattisgarh’s Kabirdham district said.

After Shankaracharya Swaroopanand raked up a controversy by opposing the worship of Sai Baba, Divya Chaturmas Mahotsav Samiti organised the conclave at Kawardha, 150km from Raipur, to debate the issue.

Representatives of 13 Akharas and other religious leaders discussed the issue.

Resolutions on other issues, including introduction of Hindu scriptures in school curriculum, making the country free of addiction, safety of women, construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, protection of cows, etc. were also passed, Joshi said.

Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust, which runs the Shirdi Sai temple, did not respond to the invitation by the Shankaracharya to attend the Dharma Sansad.

However, devotees of Sai Baba from Delhi and Ahmedabad participated in the conclave.

A minor row erupted when a sadhu on the dais interrupted Manushya Mitra, a Sai Baba follower, while speaking, said Superintendent of Police, RS Nayak. Both were pacified by others present on the dais.

Where is those ideals for which Adi Shankara established these centres and gave authority to those who are supposed to uphold "Sarvam khalu edam Brahma"? It is these actions once upon a time gave birth to offshoots of Hinduism. History will repeat. There will be a new sect like the Buddhism or Jainism or Sikh named after Sai.

There are some gods who need meat as prasad. Gods - according to Hindu mythology itself - liked to drink "somras" and Indra liked to watch apsara dance. Are you going to deny this? To what extent you will define common denominator rules and logic !!!

This entire discussion looks absurd and a-dharmic to me. Many a good people in the history were give status of god by their followers and people in general. This will happen in future as well. Mythologically even (so-called) reincrnation of gods are also considered as god. People in India treat Mother, Motherland, Sun, Moon as well as Guest as their god. So how come religious leaders have a problem with Sai Baba (or any other person to that matter). If someone treats anyone else as god then so be it. Neither vedas are property and copyright of anyone nor vedas define who is considered to be a god. Day-by-day, we seem to ignore rationality & reason.

Baba was in human form with all the physical qualities and so was Buddha,Jesus,Rama,Krishna,Shiva,Lakshmi,Saraswati,Ma Durga...what these people know about Saibaba..who has the fastest growing followers and why ? nobody is porizing him yet his pority is growing in leaps and bounds...why so many people are following for more than100 years....all people can't be fooled all the time....I think these people are envious about him.I pity them, such people were existent even during baba's period. For the past 20 years,I am proud to say that he is always with me and protected my family in difficult times.Believe it or not.. I have seen him with my naked eyes many times.Whenever I called for help.. he stood by me..he has ured me this and always kept that...let them read Sai sacharita with utmost devotion..and I am sure they will be enlightened.....but how can they read...because fools can never read such things..I am a Hindu..I also worship Shiva and other above mentioned Gods..and when I do so..Sai will be pleased...and he expresses that and he even helps me visit different shrines...I think these swamijis are trying to unite Hindus... I support that.. because we celebrate our festivals on different days in the same city..leave alone the w country...we have different castes which is not good...there should be one Hindu religious head who communicates the auious day to celebrate festival...and such things..like they do it in Muslims and Christians .if they rake up baba's issue... then.. you go to ...I don't care...you people are simply ignorant about the supreme power..the only one....May the eternal knowledge be upon you...Good bye

take a drop of my blood, and tell me if I am hindu, muslim, sikh, jain, christian, jewish, budhist etc... Let us be one, our difficulties are the same, our joys are the same, yes there are extremists, but the vast majority of us are the same, we are all worried about our jobs, the economy, marriage, will our kids do well etc... uniting ourselves, loving each other, helping each other that is the true religion, not at all what shankaracharya is saying or believing.Bhagwan says Pratna karna zaroori hai, Pratna kesay kiya jai ye zaroori nahiSwaminarayan faith is not being attacked by the Dwarka Peeth, Lord Swaminarayan was not listed in our vedas either, where is their outrage in that aspect. They are against Sai due to his pority and donations. Let god alone decide whether our faith is right or wrong, it is not up to theses shakaracharyas. My head does not bow to any man, it bows only to the almight and again when I return my body to him. Our vedas tell us that god is in everything and everywhere, omnipresent, that means that god is in our Sai and I choose to worship and pray to Sai whenever possible inclujding any Mandir that has his idol. Sab Ka Mallik Ek

It matters not wether Sai Baba is deemed worthy of worship. Jesus Christ is the only true son of the only true God. Therefore, worship God only or suffer his wrath.

Dwarka Peeth or for that matter Shanker acharya of other Peeths and other so called Dharam Gurus of HINDU SANATAN DHARMA have no power to advice whether to worship Sai Baba or not. They are not custodians of Hindus. Tomorrow they shall object to Arya Samaj. These so called CUSTODIANS/SHANKARACHARYA ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR CONFINING HINDUISM TO RITUALS. HISTORICALLY, HINDUISM right upto reign of HARSHA VARDHAN was very large heart and imilated all those who invaded India right from the time when Alexader he Great came around 320 BC. There after, we had invasions from KUSHANS and HUNS, all these were got imilatedinto our cosmopolitan, tollerant culture. It was only after HARSHA VARDAN reign these scared SHIVITE GURUS started a campaign which called REVIVAL OF SANTAN HINDU DHARMA and these SHANKARACHARYA PEETHS. This so called revival was to demolish BUDHISM from INDIA. HUNDREDS OF BUDHISTS KILLED, THEIR SHRINES DEMOLISHED. JUST IMAGINE HOW EFFECTIVE WITH UNIVERSAL APPEAL BUDHISM WAS that spreaded right upto Afghanistan and towards entire SOUTH EASE ASIA. WHERE AS these SHANKRA ACHARYA confined HINDUISM to orthodox segment of the society and helped MUSLIMS to covert locals into ISLAM. THESE DISCIPLES OF ADI SHANKARACHARYA ARE RESPONSIBLEFOR MAKING HINDUISM INTO IDOL WORSHIP. THEY ARE THE ENEMIES OF HINDUS AT LARGE. THESE SHANKAR ACHARYA HAVE INSECURITY IN THEIR MINDS BECAUSE LARGE NUMBER OF PEOPLES ARE WORSHIPPING SAI.I do not say SAI is GOD. May be it is a myth. But are these Shankarachareyasprotector of Hinduism as such, No, HEY ARE ENEMIES OF HINDU SOCIETY AS A W. JAGO HINDUS JAGO, INN AADEMBRON SEY OOPER UTHHO, MITTA DO ZAAT PAAT, CHHUA CHHUT KI DEEWARIEN, AUR PAKHNDI BRAHAMIS KA DHARAM RAAJ.

Yes but the temple is a specific place of worship. If tomorrow someone says i want to come to temple after drinking alcohol with bottle in one hand or having KFC takeaway in another - it cannot be allowed. SOme basic common denomitorial rules and logic to be followed. No one is saying do not worship Sai at home . Worship anywhere - Sai does not require golden Chattra and temples - so Worship outside Sanatan Dharma temples where Sai is not recognized deity and causes pain to those who do not believe in him .Why encroach even the place of god in name of freedom ?
