Senior Congress leader K Sudhakaran on Wednesday stated that the murder of RSS functionary E Manoj in Kannur was in retaliation to the attack on CPM leader P Jayarajan 15 years back.
Sudhakaran, a former MP from Kannur, alleged that the killer gang was led by one Vikraman, who had been a close associate of Jayarajan, now party district secretary in Kannur. Jayarajan was attacked on an Onam day. The plan was to finish off Manoj before this Onam festival, he added.
Sudhakaran alleged that CPM leaders had switched off their mobile phones on Monday, the day the RSS worker was hacked to death. Cellphone calls had trapped CPM leaders during investigation into the murder of rebel leader T P Chandrasekharan and they wanted to avoid a similar situation this time, he said.
Sudhakaran further said the Facebook comments of Jayarajan’s son Jain Raj indicated the conspiracy behind the murder.
After the murder, Raj, living in Dubai, had posted a smiley and saluted the comrades on Facebook. On Tuesday, he justified the reaction through another post on his wall.
