Rohtak police SIT arrests 2 from Manali hotel

The Haryana Police on Wednesday arrested two persons for killing two Dalits and leaving another seriously injured in Rohtak’s Madina village last month.

The Haryana Police on Wednesday arrested two persons for killing two Dalits and leaving another seriously injured in Rohtak’s Madina village last month.

The accused — Mandeep and Bhumi — were arrested from a hotel at Manali in Himachal Pradesh. The Special Investigation Team of Rohtak police,which arrested the accused,are scheduled to reach Rohtak late on Wednesday with the two. They will be produced in court on Thursday.

Preliminary interrogation of the accused revealed that they had hatched a conspiracy to kill Sudhir,Vikram and Sandeep — all residents of the same village — about a month ago and executed their plan on the evening of March 31.

Vikram (23) and his cousin Sudhir (11) were shot dead while their friend Sandeep (23) was shot at when a group of motorcycles-borne youths opened fire.

In their complaint,the victims’ families had named 18 people,mostly Jats. While they had been for murder and under SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act,Mandeep and Bhumi were the two prime accused in the case.

“We received a tip about the location of accused. A hotel was raided in Manali and both were arrested. Whoever is involved in this case will not be spared,” said Anil Rao,IG (Rohtak range).
