Authorities have imposed strict restrictions in Srinagar following the call of some separatist outfits of protests after the Friday prayers.

Additional troops have been deployed in the city and other townships to thwart the protests of separatists. Some separatist organizations had asked people to protest against the killing of two civilians at Bomia Sopore soon after Friday prayers. Meanwhile, all the shops in the city are closed and no traffic is plying on the roads.

Anticipating trouble after the Friday prayers, the district administration and Police on Thursday night took a decision to impose restrictions across the Valley, especially in downtown Srinagar. The Friday protests and clashes had become a routine affair in the down town city.

To avoid causalities, the administration doesn’t want to take any chances especially when the assembly session is in progress in the winter capital Jammu.
