Former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal today reacted sharply to Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh’s counter-charges of political vendetta.

“I am ready to face any inquiry on the government’s actions during previous terms but do not try to influence the course of inquiry by making statements as investigator, prosecutor and judge. He (chief minister) is forgetting that this is a democratic country and the rule of law prevails,” Dhumal said.

“If the CM has already decided to do everything (to put him behind bars),what is he waiting for? Is the government inquiring into the matter or is it just a publicity stunt? At times, the statements were being issued by him and at other times by officers of the Vigilance Bureau,” he added.

On the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association,Dhumal maintained that his government had not committed any crime by allotting land for providing sporting facilities of international standard to youths of the state.
