On the fourth day of Jantantra yatra, social activist Anna Hazare said that everything was good in Punjab.

“It is a peaceful state. Punjabis should fight against corruption in the state,if any,” Hazare said, while speaking at a meeting in Bathinda on Wednesday.

Around 2,000 people, mostly senior citizens, came to listen to him.

While targeting the Centre,Hazare said,“Our prime minister is a good man,but he is operated by a remote control. One day,his silence will cost the country a lot”.

He added that the Centre back-stabbed him regarding the Jan Lokpal bill and two Union ministers were behind the delay. “Senior ministers will be behind bars,if the Jan Lokpal bill is passed,” the social activist said.

Hazare, while clarifying his objective said,“I am not against the Centre, but against the system. My yatra is aimed at bringing a change in the system and sensitise the youth. I will take more than a year to do this.”

Former Army cheif General (retd) V K Singh, who accompanied Anna, said: “It was easy to fight against the British, because they could be easily recognised, but now we have to fight against our own people”.

On the ongoing yatra of Anna Hazare in Punjab,Punjab Congress chief Partap Singh Bajwa on Wednesday said he welcomes it but also expects the social activist to speak on the prevailing lawlessness and rule of one family in Punjab.
