PSA invoked against Dinesh Bharti,Nayeem Khan

J-K government has revoked the Public Safety Act (PSA) of senior separatist leader Nayeem Khan and Hindu preacher Dinesh Bharti along with 18 other detenues.

J-K government has revoked the Public Safety Act (PSA) of senior separatist leader Nayeem Khan and Hindu preacher Dinesh Bharti along with 18 other detenues.

While the separatist leadership in Kashmir have been demanding revocation of PSA to all its detained leaders and workers,the BJP and Amarnath Sangrash Samiti had been asking for revocation of Dinesh Bharti’s Public Safety Act.

Recently,the Sangrash Samiti had threatened to launch a fresh agitation in Jammu,in case Bharti’s PSA was not revoked. However,PSA of another senior separatist leader,Shabir Shah has not been revoked. BJP has condemned release of separatists. Dinesh Bharti and Nayeem Khan were arrested during Amarnath land agitation. Bharti was arrested by Jammu and Kashmir police for inflaming the passions of people in Jammu.

According to orders issued by the Home Department,those against whom the Public Safety Act has been revoked are Jamsheed Iqbal,code Baba Tiger Doda,Abdul Rashid Manhas of Gool,Ramban,Muzaffar Ahmad Mir og Drubgam,Pulwama,Shaheen Ahmad Mir of Rajpora,Haipora,Tajmul Islam Mir of Gulshanpora,Tral,Bilal Ahmad Raina of Ichoo,Gadoli,Kokernag,Tariq Ahmad Najar of Gundpora,Bandipora,Murtaza Showket Buhroo of Gundpora Bandipora,Mohammad Anwar Lone of Gundpora,Bandipora,Muzaffar Ahmad Chopan,of Padar Pora Shopian,Mohammad Shaban Dar of Wanpora,Qaimoh Kulgam,Zubair Ahmad Tanga,alias Boba,of Noorbagh Baramulla,Parvaiz Ahmad Bhat of Limber,Uri,Ghulam Nabi Gundana of Jamia Masjid Kishtwar,Maqsood Ahmad Khan,of Mohra Uri, Mohammad Nayeem Khan of Sherabad Khore,Pattan,Dinesh Bharti,of Galwaday,Jammu,Ghulam Hassan Mir,alias Chotta Geelani of Dooru,Sopore,Abdul Qayoom Ganai of Chandloora,Tangmarg,Showkat Ahmad Baba,alias Babloo,of Alamdar Colony,Charar-e-Sharief,Budgam and Nissar Ahmad Malik,alias R.P of Langate,Handwara.

BJP blamed the government for appeasing separatists by releasing separatists and their workers. However,Hurriyat and other separatist groups had reminded Chief Minister Omar Abdullah of his promise that all the detained leaders would be released soon. Every Friday,separatists organise protests in some parts of Srinagar demanding release of the detained separatist leaders.
