J-K government has revoked the Public Safety Act (PSA) of senior separatist leader Nayeem Khan and Hindu preacher Dinesh Bharti along with 18 other detenues.
While the separatist leadership in Kashmir have been demanding revocation of PSA to all its detained leaders and workers,the BJP and Amarnath Sangrash Samiti had been asking for revocation of Dinesh Bhartis Public Safety Act.
Recently,the Sangrash Samiti had threatened to launch a fresh agitation in Jammu,in case Bhartis PSA was not revoked. However,PSA of another senior separatist leader,Shabir Shah has not been revoked. BJP has condemned release of separatists. Dinesh Bharti and Nayeem Khan were arrested during Amarnath land agitation. Bharti was arrested by Jammu and Kashmir police for inflaming the passions of people in Jammu.

BJP blamed the government for appeasing separatists by releasing separatists and their workers. However,Hurriyat and other separatist groups had reminded Chief Minister Omar Abdullah of his promise that all the detained leaders would be released soon. Every Friday,separatists organise protests in some parts of Srinagar demanding release of the detained separatist leaders.
