Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday expressed deep concern over the gangrape of an elderly nun in West Bengal and the vandalisation of a church in Haryana as he sought immediate reports on these incidents.

Prime Minister’s Office has also posted in micro-blogging site Twitter expressing ‘deep’ concern about the incidents:

A 71-year-old nun was allegedly gangraped by dacoits at Gangnapur in Nadia district in the early hours on Saturday after which a CID probe was ordered into the incident.

In another incident, an under-construction church in Kaimri village near Hisar, Haryana, was vandalised by a group and the cross replaced with an idol of Hanuman, triggering tension in the area in Haryana.

These might simply be cases of poor law and order situation. But, the PM cannot and should not look away from the fact that some right-extremist creepies are crawling out of the woodwork and are gaining social and political traction. If the PM is serious about India's economic and social progress, he will have to acknowledge India's diverse and secular fabric and it's importance in India's stability and progress. Extreme views expressed publicly by the higher ups in political food chain motivate extreme activities by the foot folk. It's high time the PM cracks his whip on this and reins in the Hindutva Brigade lest India has another wasted decade, as wasted as under UPA, but for completely different reasons.

Since it is getting out of hand, can you Modi act in such a way that an alleged rapist is hanged the moment the doctor confirms rape? The judges and lawyers can wait since the verdict depends on how much cash changes hand. You have not time for law and order. Put that on auto-pilot and focus on economy.

Expressing concern means NOTHING,Modiji. You must take CONCRETE ACTION to stop fringe elements in Sangh Pariwar from taking law into their own hands, giving hateful speeches starting with Bhagwat. What will Sangh Pariwar say if similar religious conversions are started where Hindus live as a minority in Christian or Muslim majority nations ? You are preparing the ground for the return of the corrupt Congress Party. You once said every action will have an equal and opposite reaction. Now what your guys do in India do will be known next day all over the world. Your inaction will lead to brain drain of not only minorities but also secular Hindus and lead ultimately to cution of Hindus overseas where they are a minority. Social peace is more important than prosperity for building India. Today I am ashamed of my Hinduness and Indian origin. You have 2 faces : one for your public profile and another for the Hindu hardliners as you must be secretly admiring their deeds,it looks like.Prove me wrong.
