Taking a dig at Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan,Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar on Tuesday said that those in power seem to be suffering from ‘paralysis’ as their hands shake while signing files that keep piling up by the day.

Speaking at a function organised to release a book on former CM Vilasrao Deshmukh at Balgandharva Rang Mandir in Pune on Tuesday,he said,“The chief ministers normally take quick decisions, but it seems those in power are suffering from paralysis. Their hands shake while signing official files. As per my information, these files are pending for months.” He added,“I will not say much as we have to work together.”

Pawar said earlier chief ministers had knack of reading faces of citizens who came up with grievances and took decisions accordingly. Praising Deshmukh,he said he was a state leader. “A state leader is one who has the vision to take the state ahead in all the spheres. There have been a few leaders who had this vision and Deshmukh was among them,” he said.

He said Deshmukh’s success can be gauged from his journey from a sarpanch to a state minister, chief minister and the Union minister. “It is not easy to reach such heights in politics without any political background,” he added.
