Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan promised Tuesday to remove discrimination in allocation of budget to constituencies of ruling and opposition MLAs.

He said,“The government wants every region developed. Bias cannot be allowed. We will address all issues after verifying facts.”

Leader of opposition in the Assembly Eknath Khadse led a protest in Vidhan Bhawan Tuesday to highlight alleged secondary treatment to opposition members.

The opposition has threatened to take the matter to court.

Khadse said,“The ministry of finance has made a provision of Rs 10 crore for every constituency represented by Congress and NCP MLAs. No funds have been set aside for development in constituencies represented by Shiv Sena,BJP,MNS and Peasants and Workers Party.
