Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav said there are many leaders in the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance who qualify for the post of Prime Minister.

“There are many leaders in UPA who fit the bill for the top job. However,a unanimous decision in this regard can be taken only after the election results,” he said.

Commenting on Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar’s Prime Ministerial aspirations,Lalu,in his quintessential style, said “Abhi bhains pani me hai aur chaley sauda karne,Abhi bahoot baklhi hai”. (It is too early to comment or take a decision on this issue).

On Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray who has been campaigning against North Indians including Biharis frequently,Lalu said,”the issue is not worth commenting on”.

The Railway Minister said Maharashtra was not left out while announcing new proposals in the interim rail budget.

“After Bihar,it is only Maharashtra that has got projects worth Rs 5,000 crore”,he said adding the Shirdi-Mumbai rail link was a case in point.
