None of the five such public meetings held so far this month has seen participation of any senior leader.

The Uttar Pradesh leadership of Trinamool Congress was once again caught on the wrong foot as senior leader and former railway minister Mukul Roy gave the party rally in Lucknow on Sunday a miss.

It also brought to the fore the lack of coordination among UP Trinamool leadership, which had said it will hold rallies in the state with presence of national leadership, but none of the five such public meetings held so far this month has seen participation of any senior leader. The party’s rally here was to be addressed by its national general secretary Mukul Roy.  While party’s vice president and in charge of central Uttar Pradesh, Saurav Bandhopadhyay, claimed Roy’s flight was delayed due to bad weather, Trinamool state president and its only MLA in UP Shyam Sundar Sharma said the former railway minister had no plan of addressing the rally.
