Kerala police on Friday arrested a migrant worker from Firozabad district in UP in connection with a triple murder reported in Kottayam district.

The worker identified as Narendra Kumar was nabbed from his house in Firozabad. He had been working with a dry clean unit in Kottayam for last two months. The unit was run by retired government employee M Lalason, his wife Prasanna Kumari, and their elder son Praveen Lal. The bodies of Lalason, his wife and son were found in their dry cleaning unit near Kottayam on Sunday morning.

Police said the arrested person would be produced before a local magistrate court in Firozabad on Saturday, before being taken to Kottayam. In a raid held at the arrested person’s house, police said they have recovered the mobile phone and a bag used by the murdered Lal.

As ornaments and money were missing from the house of the murdered, police prima facie suspect that robbery was the motive behind the crime. The three bodies were beheaded and found acid poured on them.

The issue had suddenly made local people suspect about the teaming migrant workers from north and North-East India. There have been stray incidents of crimes, including murders, involving migrant workers in Kerala.

Laziness of Keralites causes social problems such as this one. It is time for Kerala government stop paying free money to Kerala labor force without doing any work. That is the reason for labor shortage not the migration to Gulf.

Its big social problem..when ver one state get better..poor people move to better state for jobs... Earlier it was TN labour moving ot Kerala because of TN now have enough jobs..Bihar and Up and NE/Bangladesh/Nepal people coming to keral for work/odd jobs.. We cant say Kerala people have to do jobs..because majority of them in present generation atleast ped 10th or 12th or have degree..so would they do labour odd jobs?..No right..so market is open for others..due to lots of criminals in india and less background checks possible ..crime keep increasing..same happening in all developed state/Cities...

Since about a decade back, Kerala started facing labor shortage. Most of its working people moved to gulf and other countries. The state had to invite laborers from other states. Laborers mostly from UP and Bihar filled the void. They found high labor payment in Kerala very attractive. Now a few of them will be found main suspects in crimes due to their presence there.

Those who think cheap labor is the best labor sometimes pay a heavy price.
