RJD chief Lalu Prasad, who is all set to enter electoral alliance with JD(U), has now demanded 60 per cent reservation for backwards, fakirs and Muslims in government contracts.

This is seen as a deft ploy by RJD chief in a bid to cater to broad constituencies of both parties before the upcoming bypolls for 11 Assembly seats.

Lalu Prasad said at a party training camp in Vaishali Sunday: “There must be reservation for OBCs, Dalits and Muslims in government contracts as their representation is very less.”

JD(U) may positively react to Lalu’s suggestion in a bid to consolidate their combined vote bank to “corner” BJP.
