The Kerala government Saturday said it would recommend to the Centre that the probe into the murder of RSS activist E Manoj be handed over to the CBI. State Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala said the decision was based on a report by the DGP, who suspected inter-state links behind the murder.

The state police have slapped Section 15 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act against the alleged accused. Chennithala said there was no pressure from the BJP to hand over the case to the CBI. However, the CPM blamed the decision on a conspiracy between the Congress and the BJP.
