Jind court convicts 3 for rape,3 others for circulating its MMS

A Jind court Monday held three youths of guilty raping a woman at gunpoint in front of her children in the districts Pillukhera town last year and filming the whole incident using their mobile phones.

A Jind court Monday held three youths of guilty raping a woman at gunpoint in front of her children in the districts Pillukhera town last year and filming the whole incident using their mobile phones. The court also held three other guilty of circulating the video clip on the internet.

The case dates back to September 21,2012 when the accused,identified as Dharauli village resident Sandeep and his accomplices Balram and Rinku,forcibly barged into a woman’s residence in Railway colony at Pillukhera town and gangraped her at gunpoint and filmed the sequence.

The victim lodged a complaint with the police the same day against the trio,alleging that they forcibly entered her house and started enquiring about her husband. When she told them that he was not present at home,they pushed her into a room and raped her at gunpoint. They also filmed the rape sequence on their mobile phones and circulated it in the entire colony.

After the complaint was lodged,Jind district police got her medically examined,which confirmed rape on her. All the three accused were arrested.

While deciding the case,Additional District and Sessions Judge Kanchan Mahi convicted Sandeep,Balram and Rinku on charges of gangrape and criminal conspiracy,while three others including Sonu,Narender and Rinku were convicted on charges of circulating the obscene MMS. Sandeep’s parents Ajad and Shakuntla,who were also arrested on charges of harbouring the criminals,were acquitted of the charges.

The court will pronouncing the quantum of sentence on June 5.
